Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). MEET LABUBU! Looking for an adorable shepherd puppy? Meet Labubu! Sheâs incredibly cute, with a soft coat and a smart, lively personality. Bursting with energy, sheâs always eager to play, learn, and explore, making her a wonderful match for an adopter familiar with puppy antics and committed to patient training, daily exercise, and mental stimulation. Sheâs currently working on clicker training for house manners, âsit,â and âdown,â and does great in her crate overnight as long as youâre in the room with her, though sheâs still learning to be calm when left alone. Sheâd thrive in a home with a tolerant, large dog who can match her playful spirit, but sheâs not suited for families with small children, as her enthusiastic zoomies might knock over anything lighter than she is. Sheâs endlessly curious, and with a loving, engaged adopter, sheâll blossom into a loyal and intelligent companion. My friends describe me as: Energetic, Affectionate, Adventurous Labubu is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. For more information on Labubu or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
