Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). This sweet girl is Licorice, at 10 years old she has a playful spirit and is happy to meet new people. She is walks well on a leash and takes directions like a pro. When we were playing in the classroom she tapped on the door and sat refusing to play until I let her out. Once outside she did potty and walked right back to the room for more play time. She is a smart girl and already knows âsitâ, she also takes treats gently from your hand. if you are looking for a fun sized dog that is always happy to do whatever you are up to, then Licorice is the gal for you.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
