Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed (medium coat). This adorable girl is SUZIE, a 15 pound, 3 year old, suspected Terrier and Poodle cross. Suzie is a very sweet, sensitive, and gentle dog who does not have a mean bone in her body. In addition, she gets along great with other dogs! Suzie loves being close to his foster mom and will follow her around the yard. Inside the home, she will lay and relax in a dog bed while her foster mom relaxes after work. Suzie would likely enjoy plush toys (foster home doesn’t use them because another dog is possessive of soft toys); Suzie enjoys chewing on her bones, and she will seek out play time with the other smaller dogs in her foster home. She gets animated outside and will bark with excitement at the other dogs. Suzie was rescued from a neglectful home where she and another dog were confined in a closed-off bedroom and provided little interaction with people, which explains why she’s a more clingy dog with her foster mom. Despite this, Suzie is fully housebroken and has never had an accident in her foster home. Because she is a sensitive dog, we are requiring that her adoptive home have another small to medium sized dog with whom she can play and socialize. We are also seeking a securely fenced yard with a privacy type fence because she can jump very high and will climb a chain link fence. Suzie is now crate trained. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, been tested for diseases, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
