Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Meet Bonsai Bonsai is a 6-month-old puppy with a big heart and an even bigger comeback story. He and his brother Onyx were found as strays and came into rescue needing some immediate TLC—both boys were very skinny, one needed stitches, and the other was running a fever. Thanks to quick veterinary care and lots of love, both pups have healed up beautifully and are now doing great! Bonsai is dog friendly and enjoys the company of other pups. He has not been cat tested, but as a young puppy he’s very moldable and at a great age to learn appropriate manners with cats in a patient, structured home. He’s everything you love about a young pup: curious, resilient, and ready to take on the world with his person by his side. Bonsai is at the perfect age to grow up alongside his forever family, learn all the good things, and become an amazing companion. This sweet boy has already shown how resilient he is—now he just needs a safe, loving forever home to complete his happy ending. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
