Flora has one goal in mind, and that is to enjoy her time with her new friends. She is ready to be your best friend, especially if you are ready to help her play fetch, or a fun game of chase. Flora will make a wonderful addition to just about any home. She was found as a stray and hard to believe no one came to find her. Flora is spayed and a petite, healthy girl. We estimate her to be about 5 years old. During her time with Sedona she has enjoyed her time with all of our volunteers and she gets along with well behaved dogs. Flora has made friends with our boy Jett. She is not a fan of cats and finds young puppies a bit too much to deal with. Come meet Flora and you will quickly fall in love. Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
