Description
Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Trevor. We are so excited to share that this sweet boy has taken the first step toward a better life and is now settled into his new foster home. As a young pup, Trevor fell into the hands of a dog fighter who rejected him and even threatened to kill him because Trevor wouldn’t fight. Thankfully, an uncle intervened and saved his life. Still, Trevor spent his entire life outdoors: first chained, then confined to a small pen for years, unaltered and without basic veterinary care. We met Trevor through the local spay/neuter program that Worthy Dog is proud to support. He was altered, and community volunteers stepped in to provide food, straw, and help with pen repairs, doing everything they could to improve his quality of life. Ultimately, it took Trevor being injured by another dog for him to finally be released to rescue. Trevor has fully recovered and is now thriving in a foster home. What we’ve learned quickly is that everyone who meets Trevor loves him. He is a happy, sweet boy who deserves so much more than he’s ever had, and now, he’s finally getting his chance. Trevor is currently being fostered by Terri, living in an only-dog home. He has proven to have good house manners, does well in a crate, and truly lives to hang out and cuddle with his humans. Terri initially crated him at night and when she left the house, and he simply naps. Trevor also enjoys walks and does well meeting new people and other dogs when he’s out and about. Foster Mom Update – 7/15/26 "Trevor is the coolest, most perfect boy ever. He's such a sweet pup who just wants to be with his people. He'll happily sit and cuddle with you, and whenever you get up, he gets up too. He simply wants to be part of whatever you're doing. He loves going for walks, is always up for a car ride, and is the kind of dog you can take anywhere. Trevor has become something of a therapy dog at my workplace, Make Studio, a nonprofit art center and professional community for artists with disabilities. He regularly comes to work with me, and his calm, affectionate personality has made him a favorite among both the artists and our staff. He's the perfect office assistant—greeting everyone with a wagging tail, visiting with the artists, and even enjoying a few rounds of fetch in the gallery. His gentle spirit brings smiles wherever he goes. He's become such a fixture at the studio that he's even being featured in Make Studio's upcoming promotional campaign. Trevor truly has a gift for connecting with people. Outside of work, he's just as wonderful. He's house-trained, crate-trained, loves spending time with other dogs, makes friends wherever he goes, and is the perfect sidekick for all of life's everyday adventures." What makes Trevor even more special is his resilience. Years of neglect and isolation never broke his spirit. Instead, they seem to have made him appreciate every bit of kindness and every new experience even more. Now all Trevor needs is a family of his own. If you're looking for an incredible companion, Trevor is ready. The right family is out there for this special boy.
