Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Husky / Mixed (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. Miya is 5 years old. She is a Shepherd/Husky mix. She is sweet with people and walks well on leash. She needs to be cat and dog tested. Her adoption includes her spay and vaccines. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card, includes spay/neuter, first shots and microchip.. If you already have a dog, bring them in with you for a 'meet and greet'. Mon.-Sat. 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Gerberian Shepsky is a hybrid of the German Shepherd Dog and Siberian Husky, emerging in North America as a modern companion with working-dog roots. Typically medium to large, they feature an athletic build, erect ears, and a dense double coat, often with striking blue or heterochromatic eyes. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and independence, making them affectionate yet occasionally headstrong. With very high energy, they thrive on daily exercise and structured training, suiting active families more than apartment living without ample outdoor time. Early socialization supports good manners with children and other pets. Notable health considerations include potential hip dysplasia and eye issues; regular vet care, weight management, and coat grooming help maintain well-being. Their typical lifespan ranges around 10–13 years, rewarding committed owners with a loyal, adventurous companion.
