Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) (medium coat). Meet Oodle, who is a "Doodle". He is the coolest dog there is!! He is sweet and loving and so so smart. He is good with dogs big and small, cats, people, an all-around happy boy. He loves to spend time with his family and is a real character, he has more "personality" than some people that we know. He also appears to be housetrained. This sweet boy LOVES to play, he is a very young boy (we are guessing around 12 months or so) and has been a delight to have here with us. He does love playing with other dogs, so we recommend him going to a home who has a dog who would like a playmate or an active family. He is very leggy, so he's bigger than he looks :) He is not very vocal but will let you know if he sees or hears anything that he thinks you should be paying attention to. Whoever adopts this boy is getting a true gem and an amazing new family member. If you are interested in adopting Oodle or any dog from NBSR, please email us at JulieNewBeginningsRescue and ask for an adoption application. New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue is an all volunteer rescue, we work very hard to help as many adoptable dogs as possible. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters across the country, so sadly we do not have any background information on them.....but we work very hard to get to know each and every dog brought into our program in need of a new beginning in their lives. We do not take animals with aggression problems (some may not like other dogs, cats, or may require older kids as opposed to younger children, but we will let you know everything that we know) most of these beautiful dogs have been faithful and loving family pets for their entire lives, yet still have lost their homes and families through no fault of their own. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to one of these amazing dogs please fill out our adoption application at .newbeginningsrescue/adoption-application and we will get back in touch after we get it processed. If you don't hear from us in 3 days, please send us a gentle reminder and one of us will get right on it. Please indicate the dog you are interested in meeting, where it says preference on the application! You may also email julienewbeginningsrescue , we are always happy to answer any questions you may have. If you give them your heart, they will give you theirs.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
