Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed / mixed. Sparkle can’t wait to find her forever family! She is sweet, cuddly, and endlessly curious. At about 3 months old, she has a beautiful blonde coat, a bouncy little tail, and weighs around 3 pounds. While her exact breed is unknown, she shows some lablike traits and looks a bit like a tiny polar bear exploring the snowy outdoors. She’ll likely grow into a larger dog with plenty of love to give. Sparkle is doing wonderfully with crate training and is working hard on her housebreaking skills. She gets along great with her foster sibling and would be thrilled to have a permanent playmate. She loves cuddling on the couch, chewing on anything she can get her mouth on, and pouncing on her many toys. She follows her foster mom everywhere and prefers to stay close. Sparkle is friendly when meeting new people, though she may need a little time to warm up to her new family. She truly has all the qualities you could want in a puppy and is sure to become a wonderful companion. Sparkle will be available for adoption shortly after her spay date on 1/26/26. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
