Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet 8+ week old Ambrosia (part of the Thanksgiving litter of 7) Ambrosia's mom is a 35lb terrier mix (adoption pending), her family tree is in the photos She is a sugar, spice and everything nice little girl. Ambrosia loves to play with her foster siblings 2 and 4 legged. When she is done she will cuddle right up. She will make you laugh with her silly pounces when she plays inside and outdoors. She is doing great with crate and potty training. Ambrosia knows to ring the bells on the door to go potty outside! Ambrosia would love to find a home with another playful dog and ideally a fenced yard. (No dog parks for these babies as they do not yet have the immunity for public play.) Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
