Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Rosalyn, lovingly called Roz, a one year old, 37lb black pittie mix with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. Roz may be shy when she first meets new people, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the sweetest, most loyal little shadow you could ask for. She loves being close to her humans and settles in beautifully once she knows she’s loved. Roz gets along wonderfully with her foster sister (a 49lb mixed breed), and their favorite game is a hilarious twodog chase: her sibling goes after the ball, and Roz goes after her sibling. It’s pure joy to watch. This smart girl has already mastered sit, lie down, and paw, and she’s currently working on building confidence with stairs. She’s foodmotivated in the cutest way — especially when apples, green beans, or a frozen Kong stuffed with peanut butter and kibble are involved. Roz is the perfect match for someone who appreciates a dog with a tender soul, a playful streak, and a deep desire to bond. With patience, kindness, and a comfy spot by your side, Roz will reward you with unwavering love.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
