Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Pomeranian / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Naomi McGee — 1–2 yrs • 9 lbs • Chi/Pom Mix Naomi McGee is a joyful, affectionate little dog who recently finished raising her puppies, Mac and Cheese. With her mama duties complete, she’s ready to find a loving home of her own. Naomi is social, playful, and loves everyone she meets. She’s a great road‑trip buddy, a fetch fanatic, and a snuggler who burrows under the covers. She’s wonderful with small dogs, friendly with cats, and good with older children. Larger dogs can be overwhelming for her. Medical Needs Naomi has congenital Megaesophagus (ME) and has been evaluated by an internist at SAGE RWC. She is very easy to manage: Takes Omeprazole and Sildenafil without any issues Eats in an upright position Thrives with routine and mindful mealtimes Experience with ME is helpful but not required — her foster family will guide adopters through her simple care routine. Ideal Home Naomi would love a calm, supportive home where she can be included in daily life and adored for her sweet, playful personality. She’s young, fun, and full of love. Located in the SF Bay Area and ready to meet her forever family. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. More About Chiranian BreedOverview:
The Chiranian, also affectionately known as a "Pomchi," is a charming hybrid breed resulting from the cross between a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the desirable traits of both parents, this small companion dog typically inherits a compact size, usually weighing between 4-10 pounds. Their physical appearance can vary, often featuring the long, soft coat of a Pomeranian in various colors, coupled with the alert, expressive eyes of a Chihuahua. Temperamentally, Chiranians are generally affectionate, lively, and intelligent, though they can exhibit a "big dog" personality in a small package, sometimes prone to being vocal. They are highly adaptable, making them an excellent choice for apartment living and can be suitable for families with older, respectful children. Health-wise, like many small breeds, they can be prone to dental issues, luxating patellas, and tracheal collapse, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long, happy life.
