Description
Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550.00. Meet Gypsy (aka Hanna) This six-month-old pittie is as sweet as they come. She loves to snuggle and happily gives her humans plenty of kisses. Gypsy adores other dogs and would thrive with a patient canine companion to help show her the ropes. She’s also cat-friendly and will gladly share a cozy spot with a feline friend. She can be a little timid at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to come out of her shell. Gypsy loves kids and has been wonderful with everyone she’s met. When outside, she tends to stay close to her foster’s side. Gypsy is crate trained and currently working on potty training. She’s a sensitive soul who self-soothes by carrying her favorite toys and may “vocalize” her feelings with soft grumbles or whines. She will do best with a confident, calm leader who can help build her confidence and ensure those little grumbles don’t turn into anything more. With structure, guidance, and training, she is going to thrive. Since she didn’t have a consistent routine early in life, she’s looking for a patient family who can provide clear, loving, and consistent boundaries. Could that family be yours? All of our adoption fees include veterinary exam, age appropriate vaccines (up to date at time of adoption) spay/neuter, microchip and deworming. Puppies $550 Kittens $200 Adult fees vary, please message our page.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
