Mezzaluna is available for adoption. She is 8 years old and weighs 6 lbs. Her adoption fee is $750.00. Greeting y’all, I am Mezzaluna. I am 8 years young, female & weigh 6 whole pounds! I am cute as a button and to know me is to LOVE me. I love my new home and have settled in as if I have always lived here! I walk very well on my leash and I am learning to sit and patiently wait while getting bundled up for a walk! One thing I am not fond of is the snow! I am a low rider and my little feet get cold fast! We stay warm sitting around the fireplace in these frigid temps and back to back snow storms! I would LOVE to live on a warm cozy island with plenty of sunshine! I am doing well with potty training and love my new sister Flo*£. I am good in the car and love going shopping as I am already a fashionista! I am delighted to meet & greet a lot of new furry friends around my new home! I eat well, 2 X a day here…. Yummmy! I sleep through the night safe and warm! If I forgot to mention anything else about myself please ask my foster Mom and Dad ! Mezzaluna is staying with Hope in New Providence, NJ.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
