Description
Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Foxy — a sweet, soulful young girl ready to find her forever family Name: Foxy Age: 9–10 months Breed: Black Lab mix Weight: 62 lbs Gender: Female Foxy is a gentle, laidback sweetheart with a loving personality that shines through the moment you meet her. With her glossy black coat, adorable white chest, and white-tipped paws, she’s as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Why Foxy Is So Special: Exceptionally sweet and calm for her young age Very personable and well-behaved Does wonderfully with other dogs Most recently, Foxy has been kenneled with a middle-aged Boxer mix named Claire, and the two get along beautifully. Foxy patiently and calmly allows Claire to shower her with endless kisses — standing there peacefully as if they’ve been lifelong friends. Her easygoing nature and gentle spirit make her a joy to be around. Foxy would be a wonderful addition to a home looking for a loving, affectionate companion who already knows how to coexist happily with others. Whether you’re a first-time adopter or adding to a canine family, Foxy is ready to bring warmth, companionship, and quiet joy into your life. Could Foxy be the missing piece in your family? Be among the first to meet her when she arrives on February 1 by submitting your application at .peace4paws/adoption-application (use laptop or computer). Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
