Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Beagle / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at .arf-il/adopt/application/ Daisy is a 12-week-old, 6.8-pound Beagle/Lab mix. This sweet girl is currently being fostered with her brother and two sisters, where she has proudly stepped into the role of big sister. Between her size and her natural leadership skills, Daisy is clearly the one everyone looks up to. She loves playing with all her siblings, but her favorite pastime is wrestling and friendly competition with her brother, Hudson—it’s always game on when those two are together! While Hudson was brave enough to try going up the stairs first, Daisy showed her confidence by being the first to master the journey down. When playtime is over, Daisy’s softer side shines. Her siblings can’t get enough of her and love curling up beside her at nap time for snuggles and puppy cuddles. If you’re looking for a loving, confident pup with a gentle heart and natural leader energy, Daisy may be the perfect addition to your family! Daisy will be available after her spay scheduled for January 27th Her adoption fee is $450. This pup is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and will be spayed prior to adoption. The new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Please note ARF does not approve applications for any puppy under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL. Breed overview
Overview:
The Labbe, an increasingly popular designer dog breed, is a delightful mix of the outgoing Beagle and the loyal Labrador Retriever. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parents, Labbes are known for their medium size, typically weighing between 30-70 pounds, and possessing a sturdy, athletic build. Their coats are usually short and dense, varying in color like their Lab parents, and their ears often retain the Beagle's charming flop. Temperamentally, Labbes are renowned for being friendly, intelligent, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets that thrive on companionship. While adaptable, their moderate energy levels mean they benefit from regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards, although they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient outdoor activity. Potential health considerations, inherited from their parent breeds, can include hip and elbow dysplasia, ear infections, and certain eye conditions, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups crucial for these engaging companions.
