Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Hawk Hawk is an almost 30-pound lap puppy with a gentle spirit, a big heart, and the cutest features . He does wonderfully in his crate—going in and out on command and settling down with ease. He is doing great with potty training and currently wears a belly band just to be safe. Calm yet curious, 4-5 month old Hawk enjoys car rides and is still discovering the joys of playtime, including figuring out fetch. He’s an eager learner who is picking up household rules and commands impressively fast. Because Hawk is still figuring out his size and coordination, he would do best with dog siblings of a similar size. His experience with cats is currently unknown. We are also continuing to work on his leash manners. Hawk is a sweet boy who will thrive in a home ready to guide him as he grows into his best self. Puppy class, a playful sibling, and a fenced yard are all on our wishlist for Hawk Does Hawk sound like a perfect addition to your home? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
