Dog Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback / Hound / Mixed. *Name: Axle *Age: Approx 1.5 years old *Current Weight: 70lbs *Rescued from: North Carolina *Adoption fee: $475 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Meet Axle a loving soul with a heart as big as his smile Axle is a 70-lb male Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who has been through more than his fair share, but you’d never know it by the way he greets the world. After being found with a severe front leg injury that required amputation, Axle has proven that losing a limb hasn’t slowed him down one bit — especially when it comes to love, cuddles, and companionship. Axle is a total cuddle bug at heart. While he’ll occasionally head outside to join his foster siblings for some playful romps, he truly prefers being right by his foster mom’s side, following her from room to room and soaking up every moment together. Recently, Axle has really started to blossom — discovering toys, learning how to play, and even engaging in a fun game of tug-of-war with another dog. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. This sweet boy does not do well in confined spaces like crates and will try his hardest to escape them. The good news? Axle is an absolute angel when left uncrated. He behaves beautifully in the home and usually curls up on his foster mom’s bed to nap until she returns. Axle is still growing his hair back from surgery, but he is more than ready to start the next chapter of his life.
