Description
Dog Breed: Golden Retriever / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (long coat). Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation. NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 1/21/2026: Dirty Bones - male - approx 1 year old - 28.4 EMACIATED) pounds - Some type of doodle mix Reason for intake: Dirty Bones showed up around Deen Point Road and Veterans Parkway. Many of the locals tried to capture him but he eluded capture for nearly two weeks...crossing busy Veterans Parkway back and forth. When he finally stayed in one spot, we set a trap. Since we never had eyes on him... only pictures... we didn't anticipate his size. One of the ladies we had been communicating with saw the trap set and realized it was too small. They graciously went to our rescue and grabbed our mammoth trap and set it. The early morning hours of the following day, one of the people who had been trying to help him, stopped at the sight and there he was. She messaged Ninna. Ninna saw the message pop up and got dressed and well, the rest is kind of history. He is EMACIATED under all the matting and he was SO THIRSTY! He's heading to our groomer and then to the vet the week of 1/26/26. We HAVE notified animal control that we have this dog so they can start a stray hold. He knows "sit"... "give paw" and possibly "lay down". He is neutered. He is not chipped (well, he is now because we chipped him immediately). Stay tuned! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: .facebook/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at .roadtorescuela. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Breed overview
Overview:
The Goldendoodle is a popular designer breed, originating in the late 1990s from a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. These delightful dogs inherit the best traits from both parents, often displaying the Golden Retriever's friendly demeanor and the Poodle's intelligence and low-shedding coat. Physically, Goldendoodles vary, but typically have medium-length, wavy to curly coats in shades of cream, gold, red, or black. Their temperament is generally described as affectionate, intelligent, and playful, making them excellent companions. They thrive in active families and, while adaptable, their size and energy levels suggest a preference for homes with yards over small apartments, though daily exercise can make apartment living feasible. Common health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, certain eye conditions, and heart disease, typical of their parent breeds. Their friendly nature and hypoallergenic potential (though not guaranteed) contribute to their widespread appeal.
