Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Hi, Iâm Clove â a young boy with a gentle heart and a story thatâs made me a little cautious. I came into care with some injuries, but thanks to lots of love and healing, Iâm feeling so much better now. Because of everything Iâve been through, I can be slow to trust new people, but Iâm learning every day that the world isnât so scary. With patience and kindness, my sweet and friendly side really starts to shine. Iâve been making great progress with my social skills, and Iâd love a home that can keep helping me grow at my own pace. Iâve even shown interest in other dogs when I see them on walks, so I might enjoy a calm canine friend, too. If youâre looking for a loving companion who just needs a little understanding to blossom, Iâm ready to take those steps with you.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
