Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Golden Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 500. Please contact Nbar for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at .arf-il/adopt/application/ Johnny is an 8 month old male Lab/Golden mix who weighs in at 51 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $500. If you are still interested, please read more below. Johnny is a handsome young fella. He is learning about the world around him and with some training typical for a pup his age he is sure to make a great companion for some lucky human/family! Johnny is very friendly and playful. He is good with other dogs and best for older kids due to his stage of puppyhood. He prefers having company to being left alone. He will do best with another dog in the home or someone who can be around most of the time to help him learn to feel comfortable when the humans are away. Johnny is energetic and food motivated, which will help with training. And he is also crate and potty trained. The videos are of him first meeting the resident dogs of his foster home. Johnny is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housetrained, and neutered. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting. Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at .arf-il/adopt/application/ Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: .arf-il/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit .arf-il/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events. Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Labrador, a delightful hybrid often referred to as a Goldador, is a popular cross between the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breeding programs, these intelligent dogs inherit the best traits from both beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large-sized with a muscular build, typically sporting a dense, water-repellent coat in shades of gold, yellow, or cream. Their temperament is exceptionally friendly, loyal, and eager to please, making them outstanding family pets that get along well with children and other animals. While adaptable, their energy levels necessitate regular exercise, making a house with a yard preferable over strict apartment living. Though generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in both parent breeds, and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Golden Labrador offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, affection, and trainability, making them a fantastic companion for active families.
