Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Stella was purchased through a private party. We were told she was potty trained and had all of her shots up to date. This was a lie. We got her to a vet and had her shots updated and proceeded to acclimate her to her new home. Stella is a very cute and snuggable so she is easy to love. And she loves us...but she has a few behavioral issues which require professional training. We had a trainer come last summer but she wasn't experienced enough to handle Stella. My husband I are 71 and 72 years old at this point and are disabled to where we cannot deal with the physical aspects of the training she will need. Our vet has assured us that Stella can be trained out of her aggressive behavior towards strangers, her sometimes excessive barking, and the potty training. A younger person or a couple would make a great match for Stella. **** Breed: Terrier Mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2193335&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
