Dog Breed: Beagle. Meet Denver! Denver is a handsome 6½-year-old purebred Beagle (about 16”) with a calm, easygoing personality. He came to PAR due to personal circumstances with his former owner and is now ready to settle into a loving forever home. Denver is the perfect blend of playful and laid-back. He enjoys being around children and other dogs but is a bit more relaxed and mellow in his approach. He is well-trained for outside potty breaks, comfortable in a crate, and smart enough to use a doggie door. When it’s time to rest, Denver loves to snuggle up with his blanket and relax. He enjoys time outdoors in a secure fenced yard or leisurely leash walks, but he truly shines as a gentle, affectionate companion. Sweet, cuddly, and calm, Denver is ready to bring steady love and companionship to his future family. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting. Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.

Overview:
The Beagle is a beloved scent hound with a rich history, originally bred in England for hunting hare and rabbit. Their most recognizable physical traits include a sturdy, compact build, adorable floppy ears, and soulful brown or hazel eyes. Beagles typically weigh between 18-30 pounds and stand 13-16 inches tall, featuring a smooth, dense coat that comes in a variety of tri-color or bi-color patterns. In terms of temperament, they are known for being exceptionally friendly, curious, and outgoing, making them wonderful companions for families with children and other pets. However, their strong prey drive and inclination to follow interesting scents mean they require a securely fenced yard and consistent leash training. While adaptable, their need for exercise and tendency to vocalize (howl!) makes them less ideal for small apartment living unless daily walks and mental stimulation are guaranteed. Regarding health, Beagles can be prone to certain conditions like hip dysplasia, epilepsy, and intervertebral disc disease, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups important.
