Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog. *Name: Roux *Age: DOB 12/11/25 *Current Weight: 10lbs *Rescued from: Connecticut *Adoption fee: $550 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Meet Roux! This adorable German Shepherd puppy is one of six in her litter looking for an amazing forever home! Roux and her littermates were born to a local family after their beloved German Shepherd had an unexpected pregnancy. Wanting the very best for the puppies, the family reached out to SNARR, and we’re honored to help ensure each pup finds a safe, loving home where they can thrive. These puppies are everything you’d hope for and more: healthy, snuggly, incredibly social, and full of playful puppy joy. They love being around people and other dogs, soaking up attention, and exploring the world with curious confidence. Their parents are truly special dogs — highly intelligent, well-trained, and blessed with wonderful, stable temperaments. We fully expect these pups to grow into the same kind of loyal, smart, and devoted companions that German Shepherds are known for, once they find their place in a family who can provide the time, patience and structure it takes to raise a shepherd pup. If you’re looking for a puppy who will be a loving family member, an eager learner, and a best friend for life, Roux may be the perfect match for you. IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at snarrnortheast/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
