He is wonderful with adults, children, and other dogs, and truly embodies what people hope for in a senior companion—mellow, affectionate, and easygoing. This incredible boy is looking for a long-term foster or a forever home where he can enjoy the comfort and love he so deeply deserves. Bowie is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. The shelter was unable to neuter him, but despite being intact, his demeanor is so gentle and non-threatening that you’d never know it—his behavior is calm and settled, as if he already were. Bowie would thrive in a quiet, senior-friendly home. He does not need long walks or an active lifestyle—he’s happy simply being by your side. The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred.
