Name: Frita Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 8 months as of April 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 32.6 lbs as of 4/12/26 - she might have just a bit more to grow Gets Along With: Other dogs and cats! We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Because Frita is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. Frita is Looking For: Hi, I’m Frita! My siblings, Faygo & Fanta, have enjoyed our time together but we are ready to head out on our own adventure to find our forever home! I’ve been dreaming of my perfect forever family. I’m looking for a home with toys to chew, treats to snack on, cozy spots for naps, and humans who love puppy kisses and don’t mind a little learning along the way. I’d also love a home where I can make doggy friends and enjoy playtime with other pups. I promise plenty of tail wags, zoomies, and cuddles. What do you say, could you be my forever family? What My Foster Says About Me: Frita has been a ball of fun since the moment she arrived in my home! She absolutely loves to play and can match just about any play style—she’ll happily wrestle and roughhouse with my more outgoing dog, but is gentle and respectful with my timid pup. She’s incredibly social and confident with other dogs, making instant best friends wherever she goes. She’s full of young dog energy, but settles nicely when guided into a break. She also loves toys—especially chew toys and bones—and is very food motivated, which should make continued training a breeze. She absolutely loves cuddling with other dogs. With cats, she shows curious and excited behavior—she will play chase sometimes, but it’s playful. Overall, Frita is a happy, confident, and playful pup who’s full of sweetness and personality. She’s made wonderful progress and is ready to bring a lot of joy, energy, and fun into her forever home! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
