Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Shy Gal Courtesy Post MEET LOLA! Lola is a cuddly Australian Cattle Dog mix who is approximately one year old and 40 lbs. We just don’t understand why she’s been overlooked for as long as she has been, and while most of the other puppies that came to her foster farm with her have found their homes, she is still looking. In the meantime though, her fosters report that she is fully house and crate trained and a pleasure to have around. Lola is an amazing farm dog. She assists her foster family with chores daily off-leash with horses, cows and chickens. Her recall is solid and she is completely chicken safe. She gets along well with other dogs, puppies and the house cat. Lola’s personality is on the shy side, as compared to the other outgoing canines on the farm. (Perhaps this is why she hasn’t been picked - yet??) She hasn’t spent much time walking on a leash because it’s not necessary while on the farm with her recall as good as it is so she is unsure what’s expected of her while on one. She would need consistent work walking on a leash to improve her confidence. However, once settled she is super sweet and very friendly. Lola’s adoption donation fee is $350, which includes spay, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Lola by filling out our online application, which is found on our website .acdra. Please email us at infotarashouse with any questions (as a courtesy list).

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
