Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: 400. "Courtesy Post." This is not a Street Paws animal, but we are assisting a family with placing their pet. Hello, my name is Capri. I am a purebred female boxer looking for a new home. I love treats and my toys. I know how to sit, come, my name, but overall, my favorite word is "CHOW", let's be honest, I know something great is going to be in my bowl. I will also wait until I hear "CHOW" before going for the bowl. I am still learning how to walk on the leash. I get so excited about all the things I see outside. It's hard for me to contain my excitement, and for the most part, I am crate-trained but occasionally have a "peeing" accident when mom gets home from work, but not often! I am good with people and children, but when I am around them, it takes me a minute to calm down from jumping because I see other faces, but that's no surprise, I'm a boxer! I want to say I am good with other animals, but I am not 100% sure since I am the only animal in the house. My tail is always wagging, and I love body rubs. I hope you see these beautiful pics of mine and give me a chance to become a part of your family. See you soon, Capri! Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150-mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions. Adoption fee is $400 To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at .streetpaws/home/adopt. This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. If more information is needed regarding the pet email infostreetpaws. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.

Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
