Finley has a sensitive soul and a tendency to bolt when scared, so a securely fenced yard and a steady, patient owner are essential. What he needs most is another dog in the home—canine companionship is key to his confidence and comfort. He’s just learning that indoor life, comfort, and love are good things, and having a calm, stable home with routine will help him thrive. Finley is almost two, fearful of leashes and car rides, but he’s making progress with gentle patience. He’s crate-trained, enjoys treats, and responds best in a predictable environment. Meeting new people can be intimidating at first, but with time and consistency, he blossoms into a sweet, loyal companion. How do I act when I first meet new people? When meeting new people, Finley can be very shy and shut down at first. In a familiar, predictable environment, however, he begins to relax and warm up—often becoming friendly within about a week.
