Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 550.00. Meet Luna Luna is a 6-month-old sweetheart with a calm, gentle spirit. She was recently surrendered to PJ’s Rescue through circumstances unrelated to her. She is crate-trained, knows a few basic commands, and is eager to learn more. She is intelligent and sensitive and has a long body with above average height. Around the house she’s content just being near you, and will lean into you to show her love. Luna is dog-friendly and good with kids! We believe Luna is a labrador-shepherd mix. She sleeps soundly through the night, and does not pull on a leash. Luna loves to play gently, fetch tennis balls, and would thrive as either your one-and-only pup or with another dog or children to keep her company. This sweet girl is eager to please, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s loyal best friend. All of our adoption fees include veterinary exam, age appropriate vaccines (up to date at time of adoption) spay/neuter, microchip and deworming. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
