Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Meet Shye & Girly Sweet, Playful Yorkshire Terrier Mixes Looking for Their Forever Homes Shye and her mom, Girly, are two adorable Yorkshire Terrier mixes who are ready to start their next chapter with loving families of their own. Girly is the mom and is approximately 4 years old. She is a sweet, friendly girl who enjoys spending time with people and soaking up affection. Shye is her daughter and is also a Yorkshire Terrier mix. From what their previous owner shared, Shye’s dad may have been a Chihuahua, giving her an extra dose of charm. These two girls were surrendered to Pet Rescue By Judy when their owner could no longer care for them. They are not bonded, so they may be adopted separately, but if someone were able to open their heart and home to both, that would be wonderful. Shye and Girly are both potty trained and do well with other dogs, cats, and children. They are playful, happy companions who enjoy going for walks and do pretty well on a leash. Whether it’s playtime or cuddle time, these girls are always ready to be part of the fun. Owners should be up for regular 6 week grooming appointments to maintain coat.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
