Description
Dog Breed: Rottweiler (medium coat). Meet Bruce â a young male Rottweiler with a big heart and an even bigger smile.Bruce is all the best parts of being young: playful, curious, and full of joyful energy. He loves getting outside for walks, romping around the yard, and leaning in for affection once heâs had a chance to say hello. His favorite toy is his jolly ball. Staff notes they hear him playing with his jolly ball toy in his kennel through out the day. Heâs smart and eager to learn, especially when treats and praise are involved, and heâs already showing great potential with basic training.True to his breed, Bruce is loyal and people-focused. He bonds quickly and would thrive with an adopter who can give him structure, exercise, and lots of love. With guidance and consistency, heâs going to grow into an incredible companion. If youâre looking for a fun, affectionate dog who will be your shadow and your adventure buddy, Bruce is ready to meet you If you are interested in meeting Bruce, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12:30p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12:30p & 2p-6:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
