Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Husky / Mixed. Meet Luna A Beautiful Young Girl Ready for Her Forever Home Luna is a 1-year-old German Shepherd / Husky mix weighing around 58 lbs who is looking for a loving, committed family to call her own. Like many young, active dogs, Luna has a lot of energy, curiosity, and personality, and she's now ready for a fresh start with people who can give her the time, structure, and attention she deserves. Luna is smart, alert, and eager to bond with her humans. She will thrive in a home that enjoys being active, going on walks, and continuing basic training to help her grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and patience, Luna has all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion. She has done well with other dogs, but a meet and greet is always recommended prior to adoption to ensure a good match for everyone involved. Luna would not do well in a home with cats or small animals. Her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, current on her rabies vaccination, microchipped, and basic boosters to date. Luna did test positive for heartworms but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, she will be able to receive treatment at little to no cost to their adopter. If you have any questions about heartworms or Luna's course of treatment, feel free to ask staff. They are happy to answer any questions you may have. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, and beautiful young dog to add to your family, Luna may be the perfect match. Breed overview
Overview:
The Gerberian Shepsky is a hybrid of the German Shepherd Dog and Siberian Husky, emerging in North America as a modern companion with working-dog roots. Typically medium to large, they feature an athletic build, erect ears, and a dense double coat, often with striking blue or heterochromatic eyes. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and independence, making them affectionate yet occasionally headstrong. With very high energy, they thrive on daily exercise and structured training, suiting active families more than apartment living without ample outdoor time. Early socialization supports good manners with children and other pets. Notable health considerations include potential hip dysplasia and eye issues; regular vet care, weight management, and coat grooming help maintain well-being. Their typical lifespan ranges around 10–13 years, rewarding committed owners with a loyal, adventurous companion.
