Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Hi I’m Spring! I was born around November 30th and I came up to IL a few weeks ago with my siblings at 8 weeks old. I have been having a lot of fun in my foster’s home in my playpen with one of my sisters but now I am ready for my own forever family. I’ve done great with their dogs (10 and 30lbs and am not afraid of the 80lb one), I LOVE their kids (9 & 13), and I showed no interest when I met the cat. I use the potty pads in our area thus housetraining should be easier. We also have a crate we can go in to sleep at night. For right now I’m pretty high energy - because I am a puppy- and there are just all these cool toys to play with! I am equal parts play and snuggle. I enjoy playing with my toys by myself or with you, both are fun. If you aren't around I do a pretty good job entertaining myself. Once my play is out I want to curl up in your lap and drift off to sleep. My curiosity and confidence grows each day making me just fun all around. I am one happy pup, I hope you are ready for some puppy kisses! Due to my age I am still exploring with my mouth, so I would do best in a home that understands this. I'm getting better at learning that toys are better than toes. If you are looking for a fun and sweet pup look no further! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
