Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Please note that Halo is a courtesy post and is not located at or affiliated with Paws Crossed. A message from Halo's caregiver: I’m seeking an urgent foster-based or home placement for my senior dog, Halo. We think she is about 13 year old. She is calm, gentle, people-oriented, and has orthopedic history with urinary incontinence that resolves in quiet environments. She is becoming more and more stressed out by our home. We have a 2 and 3 year old, both who have autism. I have tried uti meds, gabapentin and cbd treats and none have reduced her anxiety. When she stayed with the sitter for 9 days, she was a calm and happy girl who did not have any pee accidents. Before and after that she has been having accidents in the house. She cannot be placed in a kennel or cage due to anxiety and age. She has already demonstrated doing very well in a calm adult home. We live in White Plains. I’m available immediately and can provide full vet records. Please let me know if you can help or refer. Please contact Katie at drkatieprincegmail with any questions or adoption inquiries.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
