Description
Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed. *Name: Hail *Age: Est DOB 12/1/25 *Current Weight: 20lbs & growing! *Rescued from: South Carolina *Adoption fee: $550 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Meet Hail! Last summer, two young mama dogs wandered onto a property in South Carolina looking for safety. With no one to care for them, both became pregnant—and soon there were sixteen tiny puppies depending on one overwhelmed person. By the time help arrived, only six puppies remained. Our rescue partner stepped in, bringing the surviving babies and their mamas to safety and giving them the care and chance they so desperately needed. Hail is one of those survivors. Now, she’s safe, growing, and finally getting the chance to just be a puppy. She’s a confident, playful girl with a big personality packed into a small (but growing!) brindle body. Curious, engaged, and always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing. Hail loves other dogs and thrives in a playful environment. Her style is more rough-and-tumble than dainty, so she’d do best with a canine sibling who enjoys an active playmate. Like any young puppy, she’s still learning the ropes—working on house training and starting to learn basic commands. With consistency and guidance, she’s going to grow into an incredible dog. Hail’s mama is around 35–40 lbs, but based on her current size and growth, we expect Hail to be medium to large when fully grown. She’s already overcome more than most, and now she’s ready for the life she was always meant to have. If you’re looking for a fun, social, and loving companion, Hail might just be your girl. IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. Overview:
The American Staffordshire Terrier, often affectionately called an "AmStaff," is a breed with a fascinating history, originating in 19th-century England and later refined in the United States. Physically, they are medium-sized, muscular, and agile dogs, known for their powerful build and distinctive wide smile. Their short, stiff coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns. In terms of temperament, AmStaffs are generally intelligent, confident, and highly loyal to their families. They possess a strong desire to please and can be quite affectionate. While they can make excellent family companions and often get along well with children, early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strength and inherent protective instincts. They are adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, including apartments, as long as they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but some individuals may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions.
