Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed. Meet Darla (GA), a 9monthold (as of January 2026) Cane Corso mix with the kind of stunning brindle coat that turns heads everywhere she goes. She’s a big girl with an even bigger heart—healthy, sweet, and wonderfully social with both people and other dogs. Darla blends gentlegiant charm with goofy puppy antics, all wrapped in those gorgeous tigerstriped swirls that make her look like living artwork. She’s smart, affectionate, and always ready to lean in for love, convinced she’s lapsized despite all evidence to the contrary. If you’ve been dreaming of a beautiful, brindlecoated sweetheart who brings joy, comedy, and companionship into your home, Darla is ready to meet you. Apply to adopt Darla (GA) at .rescuedogsrocknyc. Darla's adoption fee is $575. Please be sure to reference this pet's name as Darla (GA) in case of duplicate names within the rescue. Thank you! RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
