Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Teddyâs Report Card from the Shelter Manager Greeting people: B+ Accepting Pets: Solid B, depends on mood Husky Sass: Advanced Placement Selective Hearing: A+ (especially when called inside) Listening When It Benefits Him: A++ Office Snoozing/Nap Enthusiasm: Honors Student Zoomies: LOL Ability to provide emotional support: N/A Potty Routine: A Lunch Stealer: Expert Ability to Steal Your Heart: Guaranteed Pass FINAL GRADE: Certified Good Boy Teddy is a gentle, low-maintenance Husky who truly relaxes outside the kennel. He spent several months as an office buddy, where he enjoys a simple routine: morning sniff walks, long naps by the desk, and short midday play breaks. Teddy is calm, polite with people, and happy to settle in after brief bursts of zoomies. He appears mostly house-trained with a consistent schedule. Teddy enjoys toys and quiet company but isnât overly demanding for attention. He loves treats and other high-value items a little too much, but this has been easy to manage with space and simple trading. Like many Huskies, he also has a bit of selective hearing. Teddy thrives in a predictable environment and would do wonderfully in many home environments that appreciate a sweet, sleepy companion with a few lovable quirks. Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
