Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Dixie-Luchi is a sweet, friendly girl with an easygoing charm that makes her an instant favorite wherever she goes. Sheâs a breeze to handle on leash, and she walks beautifully without any pulling. Sheâs happy to stroll right by your side! With her lower energy level, Dixie-Luchi is all about enjoying the simple things: a nice walk, a cozy spot to relax, and plenty of affection. She absolutely loves being pet and will happily soak up all the attention youâre willing to give. She already knows how to sit on command like a pro and takes treats gently from your hand. Toys arenât really her thing - sheâs much more interested in spending quality time with you. Dixie-Luchi has done great around other dogs in shelter playgroups and has been wonderful with everyone sheâs met at adoption events, showing off just how friendly and well-mannered she is. Dixie-Luchi came to us as a stray with a microchip, but sadly, no one came forward to reclaim her. Now sheâs ready for a fresh start with a family who will love her as much as sheâll love them!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
