Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). She was found in the middle of nowhere — shaking, skeletal, and so desperate to survive that she was eating plastic. She had been forgotten. This week, we were asked to save her, and without hesitation, we said yes. She needed help immediately, and turning away was never an option. She fought to survive. Now we’re fighting alongside her. We’re working closely with veterinarians to determine what comes next, but one thing is certain: she will never be alone again. Her name is Lila, in honor of a boxer we lost last week — a reminder of why we show up, even when it breaks our hearts. If you’re able, please consider donating to Lila’s care. Every dollar is food, medical care, and time — and it’s how we keep saving dogs who have been discarded and left behind. chboxerrescue/donate/ VENMO: CHBR-rescue1 (0645) ZELLE: chbrescueyahoo PAYPAL: retta4603yahoo CHECKS: Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue 250 Joanne Drive, Davenport FL 33897

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
