This doesn’t mean she’s a toy or an accessory, she’s a dog who’s going to need a lot of love, affection and care. Little Scarlett was stray in Northern Oklahoma for several weeks; a kind woman who rescues took her in where she probably gave birth to several puppies so she’s needed to recuperate from that to get ready for adoption! Scarlett is tiny but she’s also a little pistol! When she’s comfortable, she’ll run around she’ll play she’ll chase another dog. Scarlett is approximately two years old, according to the vet. Scarlett is very quiet right now she’s not timid or fearful. She’s just taking in another new environment. Scarlett has been crate, trained, and housebroken; she’s definitely not destructive. She hasn’t shown any interest in toys or chewies, but going from rural Oklahoma to suburban Dallas is definite culture shock. It would be for ME so I can only imagine how little Scarlett feels! Scarlett needs a calm house; Mini and especially Toy Aussies are better off in a mature home without small children. They are companion dogs more than playmates. Since Scarlett gets along with other dogs so well blue we would like to have a larger male companion dog for her. Her Foster said that she does have a lot of energy when she wants to play once she is settled in. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD. General Info - PLEASE READ!
