Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Boxer (short coat). Meet Nova! ✨ Nova is an estimated 1.5-year-old Pit Bull/Boxer–type mix who came to us when her family could no longer give her the time she needed. She’s a special girl with a big heart and would do best in a home familiar with large-breed dogs. Nova is young, bouncy, and full of potential! She’ll thrive with someone who can help her burn off her energy and continue working on basic obedience. Because she loves to jump and greet with enthusiasm, she may be a bit much for smaller people—but it’s all part of her joyful personality. Nova adores other dogs and loves to play… and play hard! She’d be happiest with a canine friend who can keep up with her playful spirit. With love, structure, and an active home, Nova is ready to shine as an amazing companion

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
