Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Hi, I'm Osita! I'm a 5-month-old German Shepherd mix with the softest heart and the wiggliest tail once I get to know you. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was a little shy and unsure about people and the big world, but hey, I'm just a puppy! Because of that, I'm part of the TLC program, which just means I do best with gentle patience, kind voices, and humans who understand that confidence grows with love. And guess what? I'm already blooming! I'm a sweet, loving girl who's learning that humans are pretty great, especially the ones with treats and cuddles. As a German Shepherd mix, I still have some growing to do-both in size and in smarts-so I'm looking for a home that can give me the exercise, training, and guidance every puppy needs to become their best self. After I get my energy out, I'm more than happy to snuggle up and soak in all the cuddles I'm currently available by appointment only, so please call (831) 708-5842 to learn more about me and schedule a time to meet me.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
