Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 275. Meet Buzz Lightyear, an adorable mixed breed puppy ready to steal your heart! At 7-8 weeks old and only about 8 pounds, this boy is pure joy! He’s loving play time and snuggles and already learning house and crate training. He was found dumped in a box on the side of the road with his siblings. Luckily, a Good Samaritan found them and got them into warm, loving foster homes. He is currently living in a home with young kids (four and two years old), cats and other dogs. Perfect for a family seeking a playful companion, Buzz Lightyear is eager to find his forever home! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
