Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY. Meet Tyson Say hello to Tyson, a 4-month-old pup weighing just over 20 lbs who is ready to find his forever family. Tyson is everything you’d hope for in a young puppy — playful, curious, wiggly, and full of love. He’s at that wonderful age where every day is a new adventure, whether he’s chasing toys, exploring the world around him, or curling up for snuggles after playtime. Because he’s still a young pup, Tyson will need a family committed to puppy training, consistency, and lots of positive guidance as he grows. Puppies his age are little sponges and thrive with patience, structure, and love. If you’re looking to add joy, laughter, and plenty of puppy kisses to your home, Tyson might be your perfect match. Apply to adopt Tyson at lcarescue.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
