Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Meet Goose! Goose is an 8-month-old Pitbull mix with a soft, unique white-and-brindle coat and an even softer personality. Already weighing in at 52 lbs and still growing into a large dog, Goose is a happy, affectionate puppy who truly loves everything and everyone he meets. True to his name, Goose is a certified silly goose. He’s wildly excited to meet people, adores affection, and has zero concept of personal space, in the best way. He’ll happily flop into your lap, grunt contentedly while being petted, and snooze with the sweetest little snore. He’s also surprisingly plush for a pittie, with a feather-soft coat that makes cuddling mandatory. He’s medium-to-high energy and thrives with both mental and physical stimulation, playtime, toys, benebones, and a good run once or twice a day help keep him happy and balanced. Despite spending about 50 days in a shelter after being found as a stray, Goose is full of trust, joy, and zest for life. Goose is a Velcro dog through and through. You will never use the bathroom alone again, and yes, couch privileges are non-negotiable in his mind. Quiet, affectionate, goofy, and endlessly loving, Goose would thrive in many different home environments with people ready to embrace puppy energy and a whole lot of love. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a cuddle champion, and a dog who will make you laugh daily, Goose is ready to honk his way into your heart. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
