Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Ace is a playful, sweet, and cuddly pup who is ready to find his people. He settled into his foster home seamlessly and has been a joy ever since. Ace loves playing with his foster sisters and truly believes every toy in the house belongs to him — because he plays with all of them! Whether it’s tug, fetch, or independent toy time, he’s always happy to join in. He’s up for just about any activity, from walks and play sessions to snuggling on the couch. While he loves attention, he also does a great job entertaining himself and settling down for a nap when playtime is over. Ace is fully potty trained and already knows “sit,” “shake,” and “down.” He’s currently learning “leave it” and “stay,” and with his strong food motivation and eagerness to please, he’s picking things up quickly. He’s still young and will benefit from continued guidance, but he truly enjoys learning and working with his people. He walks beautifully on leash, whether on a solo stroll or alongside other dogs. In his foster home, he has done very well with two resident dogs — playing frequently and interacting in a friendly, social way. With his sweet personality, playful energy, and cuddly nature, Ace would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a fun-loving and affectionate companion. Ace was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
