Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Cleo! Sweet Cleo is a happy 8-ish month old girl. She is active, playful, social and all around a fun dog. She is great with other dogs and all people. She is young and needs training in the basics but has so much potential. A home with a yard and an active family will be best for Cleo. She is still learning to be alone for longer periods of time and her foster family is working on that with her. She likes to be with her people. We prefer to place her in a home with kids over 8, just because she is young and bouncy and kids can easily get knocked over. Cleo will be spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at .savinggreatanimals and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
