Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 250.00. Janey is a beautiful, sweet and active little girl: > great with dogs and cats > great with people and children of all ages > fully house and crate trained > sleeps through the night > happily shares food and water with other dogs > loves, loves to play with other dogs > super happy to cuddle with you > walks well on the leash Janey was saved when we saw her posted on Facebook at 7 weeks old. At currently 6 months old, this little girl has grown into a petit, super sweet and playful young lady. She is currently attending doggy daycare and everybody loves having her around. She can be a little spit fire but is reading other dogs well and knows when to back off. She has no problem taking corrections from people or other dogs. She always remains goofy and joyful. Janey will stay on the smaller side. We don't believe she will be much heavier than +/- 40 lbs. when grown. She would be a perfect size for apartment living as long as she gets plenty of exercise. If you are looking for a happy, goofy and sweet addition to your family, check out our Janey.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
