Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Oscar is READY for ADOPTION! Oscar’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was found after being hit by a car, left injured with a broken leg. After serving his stray hold, he officially became a Mountain Mama Pyrs & Pups dog, and MMPP stepped in to cover all of his medical care so he could get the help he deserved. Despite everything, Oscar is still full of life, love, and joy. His broken leg hasn’t slowed him down one bit. He has one more veterinary appointment in about two weeks, where we’re hopeful to see good healing progress and possibly get his cast removed. Oscar would do best in a home with a yard where he can run and play, and he’s looking for a committed adopter ready to give him stability and see him through the rest of his healing. Moving dogs causes so much stress, and Oscar is ready to land somewhere for good. This boy is resilient, affectionate, and has the biggest heart. If you’re looking for a survivor who will love you endlessly, Oscar is waiting. Apply to adopt and give him the forever he’s fought so hard for.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
